Job summary
Meadowview Behavioral Hospital is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our close-knit psychiatry team in Peoria, IL. You will provide nursing care under the direction of RNs, document patient status, administer medications, and support treatment programs with compassionate, evidence-based care.
The ideal candidate has an LPN diploma, valid state license, CPR certification, CPI training, and at least 1 year of psychiatry experience.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited vocational nursing program.
- Minimum 1 year of LPN experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
- Licensed to practice nursing by the State Board of Nursing.
- Must pass medication administration exam; CPR and CPI training within 90 days.
Responsibilities
- Document patient information and changes in patient condition.
- Alert RN to changes needing reassessment.
- Administer medications to patients.
- Use CPI techniques for safety in psychiatric and medical emergencies.
- Orient patients to treatment programs and monitor participation.
