The Office of Mental Health within the South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct care for adult psychiatric patients at Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital.

Under RN supervision, you will administer medications, perform nursing procedures, and support patient teaching, while maintaining safety and compassionate, culturally sensitive care in a fast-paced behavioral health setting.

Competenze

• Must be licensed by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing (LLR).
• Ability to work with mentally ill adults.
• Provide emergency care for cardiac/respiratory arrests and other emergencies.
• Demonstrate safe/effective use of patient care equipment; may be exposed to blood/bodily fluids.
• Stand, walk, reach, pull, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds; climb stairs.
• Graduate of an accredited LPN program with 1 year nursing experience; 80-hour pharmacology may substitute.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Mansioni

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered using closed-loop system.
• Provide direct care to adult psychiatric patients; maintain a therapeutic relationship.
• Lead patient teaching groups as required by supervisor.
• Record data in patient records in real time.
• Precept newly hired LPN.
• Supervise non-licensed nursing personnel delivering care.
• Maintain competency via mandatory annual trainings and 15 hours yearly.
