Job summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse at Seaside Health System provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients with acute behavioral disorders in a psychiatric setting. You will work with RNs, physicians, and the care team to implement the plan of care, document progress, and engage in therapeutic interventions.

You will report changes in a patient’s condition to the Director of Nursing, follow the six rights of medication administration, and participate in team meetings and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Licensed to practice in Louisiana.
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience in medical-surgical or psychiatric care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care to psychiatric patients.
• Administer medications following the 6 Rights and document accordingly.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and the care team.
• Report changes in inpatient condition to the Director of Nursing.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and quality improvement activities.
