Job summary

Jersey Shore University Medical Center, part of Hackensack Meridian Health, seeks a Registered Nurse for the inpatient psychiatric unit. You will deliver evidence-based nursing care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support patients and families during stabilization and safety planning.

Required: current New Jersey RN license, BLS/CPR within 60 days of hire, and at least 6 months of nursing experience; psych experience preferred. BSN in progress encouraged.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New Jersey is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum of 6 months nursing experience or participation in Nurse Residency program.
• At least 2 years of psychiatric or mental health nursing preferred.
• BSN in progress and/or willingness to obtain within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing practices per evidence-based standards to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients, families, and health-care team regarding status and plan of care.
• Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluation in real time.
• Provide patient and family-centered education to optimize health and disease management.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary discharge planning for safe transitions of care.
