Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Regular Full-Time RN for the Psychiatry Float Pool in the College Hill area. The role involves flexible staffing across multiple behavioral health settings, applying clinical judgment, and delivering developmentally appropriate care for children and adolescents.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document observations, and participate in trauma-informed, patient-centered care within a state-of-the-art facility opened in 2023.

Qualifications

• Associate or diploma RN from ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accredited program.
• Active Ohio RN license; may require other state licensure.
• If external candidate without BSN/MSN, enroll in BSN/MSN within 1 year and complete within 5 years.
• Must pass Therapeutic Crisis Intervention during orientation.
• Preferred BSN/MSN; psychiatric, behavioral health, or float pool nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Apply clinical judgment to assess needs and implement nursing care across physical and mental health needs.
• Administer medications, monitor effectiveness, and escalate concerns as needed.
• Provide developmentally appropriate care and support activities of daily living.
• Maintain observation levels with safety and compassion.
