Job summary

Northeast Michigan CMHA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support psychiatric services in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will collect vital signs, reconcile medications, and update the EHR while coordinating with pharmacies, physicians, and laboratories. The role requires CMA/AAMA or RMA certification and an associate degree, plus strong organization and communication skills. A valid Michigan driver’s license is preferred for campus coverage.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required and CMA/AAMA or RMA certification from an accredited program.
• Experience with mental health or psychiatric services is valued.
• Strong organization and communication skills are essential for coordinating care.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and document in the EHR.
• Assist clinical staff with health information collection and notes.
• Process medication reconciliation and prior authorizations.
• Coordinate lab requests and relay results to prescribers.
• Support pharmacy and nursing coordination and safety procedures.
