ReGenesis Health Care is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in a Federally Qualified Health Center setting in Spartanburg, SC. You will evaluate, diagnose, and manage adult and pediatric patients, including medication management and coordinated care with physicians, nurses, and behavioral health staff.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, timely documentation, and collaboration within an integrated team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited psychiatric-mental health program
• Current SC RN license with APRN licensure or ability to obtain
• Current board certification in psychiatry or APRN specialty
• Prescriptive authority and DEA registration or eligibility
• BLS certification is required
• Experience with adult and pediatric behavioral health care
• FQHC/underserved setting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnose acute and chronic conditions
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans for varying severity
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications within scope
• Order and interpret labs and diagnostic tests
• Document histories across medical, psychiatric, social, and medication domains
• Assess treatment response, side effects, adherence, and safety
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families
• Coordinate care with primary care, BH clinicians, and specialists
• Make timely referrals for higher level care as needed
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and ensure confidentiality
• Collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes

ReGenesis Health Care is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care within our Federally Qualified Health Center. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage a broad range of mental health conditions for adult and pediatric patients, including medication management, patient education, care coordination, and appropriate referrals. The ideal candidate is clinically confident, collaborative, compassionate, and committed to timely, accurate documentation and evidence-based care.

Duties and Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnose acute and chronic behavioral health conditions.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans for patients with mild to severe mental health disorders.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications and other treatments within the scope of practice and applicable regulations.
• Order, review, and interpret appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.
• Obtain and document relevant medical, psychiatric, social, and medication histories.
• Assess treatment response, medication effectiveness, side effects, adherence, and safety concerns.
• Provide patient and family education, counseling, and health promotion related to behavioral and mental health needs.
• Coordinate care with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, specialists, community resources, and other members of the care team.
• Make timely and appropriate referrals when a patient requires a higher level of care or specialty services.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) in accordance with organizational policies and clinical standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all applicable clinical, regulatory, and organizational requirements.

• Competitive annual salary of $96,000-$115,000.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited professional program with dedicated training or work experience leading to psychiatric-mental health care preparation.
• Current, unrestricted South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) recognition/licensure, or ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Current national board certification through an accepted certifying body.
• Prescriptive authority and DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain, as required for the role.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to evaluate and treat both adult and pediatric behavioral health patients.
• Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), community health center, or underserved setting is preferred.
• Psychiatric specific training is preferred but not required.
