Job summary

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) seeks a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider (PMHNP or Psych-PA-C) to deliver psychiatric care to detainees. You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, manage medications, and provide crisis intervention both onsite and via telepsychiatry.

You will collaborate with psychiatrists, clinical directors, and consultants, mentor peers, and contribute to policy development within IHSC. A USPHS CAD or active duty status is required.

Qualifications

• PMHNP licensure in good standing and ANCC board certification.
• Ability to work under IHSC policy and collaborative practice agreements.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct psychiatric care to detainees via onsite and telepsychiatry.
• Consults with psychiatrist/clinical director for complex cases.
• Infirmary care including admission, discharge and daily rounds.
• Performs comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and initiates treatment plans.
• Adheres to IHSC formulary and collaborative practice agreement.
• Monitors violence risk, self-harm, and suicide prevention.
• Prescribes medications per policy and documents care.
• Coordinates referrals to off-site consultants.
• Reviews pertinent psychiatric records and interprets diagnostics.
• Maintains confidentiality and documentation; on-call after hours.
• Travel up to 20% annually.
