Job summary

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide direct detainee care, including evaluations, minor procedures, and medication prescriptions. The incumbent reports to the Supervisory APP or Clinical Director if on-site Supervisory APP is unavailable.

This role is open to USPHS officers and CAD candidates, requiring coordination with IHSC policies and ongoing professional training to maintain clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provides health care of a scope, quality, and quantity consistent with agency and PHS policies.
• Performs comprehensive history and physical evaluations, behavioral health care, and minor outpatient surgical procedures for detainees.
• Coordinates health care needs of detainees including referrals to off-site consultants.
• Interprets diagnostic and laboratory results.
• Interprets Tuberculin skin tests and diagnostic studies, manages DOT for TB treatment.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and confidentiality of medical records.
