Job summary

Huntsville Hospital Health System is seeking a qualified psychiatric clinical assessor to evaluate patients of all ages and determine inpatient admission needs. You will collaborate with the on-call psychiatrist, provide referrals when inpatient care is not required, and ensure precise documentation throughout the admission process.

Strong knowledge of psychiatric terminology and the ability to document accurately are essential as you support patient care within a nonprofit regional health

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessments on potential patients to determine if inpatient psychiatric care is needed.
• Offer alternatives and referrals for patients not requiring inpatient admission.
• Act as liaison between patient and on-call psychiatrist or other personnel as appropriate.
• Maintain clear documentation and complete the admission process when necessary.
• Document using appropriate psychiatric terminology.
