Job summary

ScionHealth is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant in a behavioral health unit to provide compassionate, patient-centered care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. You will assist with ADLs, monitor safety, document in EMR, and support therapeutic activities.

The role requires a CNA license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support, with prior acute or behavioral health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Support patients with psychosocial needs under RN supervision.
• Provide safe patient positioning, transfer, and mobility support.
• Document intake/output, vital signs, weights, and patient behaviors in EMR.
• Maintain clean and organized patient rooms and unit environments.
• Respond to call lights promptly and respectfully.
• Participate in therapeutic activities and safety checks.
• Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
• Apply and monitor restraints as directed and document accordingly.
• Transport patients to procedures and departments as needed.
• Participate in crisis interventions under RN direction.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
• Provide post-mortem care and assist in body transport as needed.
