Job summary

Riverside Hospital in Hampton, Virginia is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support patients needing psychiatric or chemical dependency treatment. You will perform intake screenings, monitor safety, and assist with daily living activities under supervision of nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• 1 year behavioral health experience (preferred)
• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/ARC within 30 Days (Required)
• First Aid - American Heart Association/ARC within 30 Days (Required)

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients seeking psychiatric and/or chemical dependency treatment.
• Communicate patient, resident, family needs to physicians accurately and completely.
• Collaborate with referral sources, patients, families, and team members regarding care coordination.
• Provides intake screening reports of patient/caller condition, including initial observations.
• Lead patients in therapeutic and recreational activities.
• Monitor patients' wellbeing and report unusual behavior or physical ailments to medical staff.
• Observe patients for safety as directed by RN/LPN, including rounds and sitters.
• Assist patient with activities of daily living (hygiene, dressing, etc.).
