Job summary

Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Svc in Grand Rapids, MI seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the third shift. The role is 32 hours per week, with a 11pm-7:30am schedule and every other weekend and holiday rotation.

The RN will assess needs, coordinate care with physicians, provide patient-family education, maintain safety, document care, and participate in safety and crisis interventions. Sign-on bonus plus incentive pay on Pinecone and shift differential enhance compensation.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license.
• CPR certification (BLS/CPR as applicable).
• BSN preferred or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assess nursing care needs and develop plans of care with the interdiscliplinary team.
• Coordinate and provide nursing care with physicians.
• Provide milieu management and education to patients and families, including discharge planning.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Document, verify, and communicate patient care information per policies.
• Monitor changes in condition and report to providers.
• Serve as a clinical leader, delegating tasks and supporting staff development.
• Participate in safety management and crisis intervention.
• Support person-centered, recovery-focused care across diverse populations.
• Role model professionalism and Pine Rest values.
• May train or oversee direct care staff and assist with medication Administration.

Sign on Bonus: $25,000. RN's working on Pinecone get +$2.00 per hour incentive pay on top of base wage and shift differential.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI. Schedule: 32 hours weekly, third shift (11pm-7:30am) with every other weekend (Fri & Sat) and holiday rotation required. Full schedule: Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday; Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess individuals' nursing care needs and develop, implement, and reassess plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Coordinate and provide nursing care in collaboration with physicians for individuals and groups
• Provide milieu management and education to individuals served and their families, including discharge and aftercare planning
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for persons served and staff
• Document, verify, and communicate patient care information according to established policies and procedures
• Monitor for and report potential safety risks or changes in condition to providers
• Serve as a clinical leader by delegating tasks, coordinating staff assignments, and supporting staff development
• Participate in safety management, crisis intervention, prevention, and de-escalation
• Support person-centered, recovery-focused care across diverse populations and clinical settings
• Role model professionalism, compassion, and Pine Rest's mission and values
• May train or provide oversight to direct care staff and support medication and physical health activities

Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Satisfactory prior clinical experience; psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• CPR certification required (BLS or CPR/AED/First Aid as applicable by program)
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
• Ability to provide culturally inclusive, compassionate care
• Valid Michigan driver's license may be required
