Central Florida Behavioral Hospital in Orlando, FL seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver nursing care for psychiatric patients including children, adolescents and adults. You will assess mental health needs, plan and evaluate care, monitor medications, ensure safety and apply crisis intervention when needed.

The role requires Florida RN licensure, an Associate degree (BSN preferred), CPR, and at least 1 year of relevant experience; day shift 7 AM–7 PM with orientations scheduled.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program; Florida RN license in good standing.
• 1 year minimum related nursing experience; psychiatric nursing preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent, geriatric and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process. Duties include: assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care; administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; to ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors. Direct milieu management.
• Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
• Contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team.
• Document nursing care, treatment, and patient’s response to treatment
• Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and chemical dependency disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.

Qualifications
