Psychiatric RN Job Details

Job Title: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel
Healthcare Setting: Senior Behavioral Health Unit, Acute Care Hospital
Location: Moberly, MO 65270 (Missouri behavioral health jobs)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: September 8, 2025
End Date: December 8, 2025
Nursing Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1860–$2200
Patient Ratio: 1:8
Scrub Color: Any
Floating: Required
Blocked Scheduling: May be accommodated

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active, unencumbered RN license (Registered Nurse)
At least 1 year of recent experience in Senior Behavioral Health or psychiatric nursing within an acute care hospital (within the last year)
BLS certification required
Ability to float to other units as needed
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

Conduct behavioral health assessments and provide psychiatric nursing care for assigned patients
Develop, implement, and document individualized patient care plans in accordance with hospital policies
Assist physicians during psychiatric evaluations and medical procedures
Perform patient tests and administer medications within the RN scope of practice
Educate patients and families on behavioral health conditions, medications, and self-care skills
Collaborate with nursing peers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
Maintain knowledge of standard nursing concepts, practices, and procedures
