Job summary

Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center in Hampton, VA seeks a Psych Registered Nurse (RN) for its labor pool. The position is part-time, with 12-hour shifts and a requirement to work at least 2 weekend shifts per scheduling period, plus one summer and one winter holiday per year.

The RN assesses and plans care, coordinates with an interdisciplinary team, and ensures quality documentation and patient education. Prior pediatric/adolescent psychiatry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs and develop a care plan.
• Collaborate with the care team to implement and evaluate nursing care.
• Educate patients and families; document plans and outcomes per RHS standards.
• Delegate and supervise non-professional staff to support patient care.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure safe patient throughput.

Also required to work 1 summer and 1 winter holiday per year.****Overview** Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care.
