Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center in Hampton, VA seeks a Psych Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor Pool nights. This part‑time position covers 7pm–7am across four 12‑hour shifts in a 6‑week cycle, including weekend work.

Under supervision of the Nurse Manager and Director, you assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the Emergency Services complex, coordinating education, discharge planning, and clinical documentation.

Qualifications

• Education: Program Graduate, Nursing (Required).
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
• 1 year nursing experience in behavioral health (Preferred).
• 2 years RN experience (Preferred).
• Licenses & Certifications: RN license in VA (Required).
• CPR/BLS Certification (Required).
• ACLS Provider (Preferred) within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs and develop care plans.
• Provide 24/7 nursing care and ensure throughput and ethical care.
• Educate patients and families; coordinate discharge education.
• Complete clinical documentation per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.

## Psych Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor Pool - Nights - Psych EDApply: Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center - Hampton, Virginia: Part time: Posted Today: 2026-034273Hampton, Virginia**Hiring Range**$38.60 - $53.08/HourlyActual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.**Labor Pool Nights requires 4 12-hour shifts (7p-7a) within a 6 week scheduled period. 2 of the shifts need to be on the weekend and you will need to work one summer and one winter holiday a year.** **Overview** Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN may work in a variety of settings in the Emergency Services Complex and roles within Riverside Health System. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of the specific patient populations served in the Emergency Services units/departments. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans. **What you will do** * Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population served in the Emergency Services units/departments (see unit specific competencies and equipment checklists).* Demonstrates a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to assure patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care. Focuses on quality outcomes of patient care when addressing customer’s needs to include current evidence-based practice and quality measures.* Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations and ability to modify education method to ensure patient/family comprehension. Educates by assuming responsibility to individualize and coordinate patient education and discharge specific education that includes family/caregiver.
