Job summary

Riverside Health System in Hampton, VA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, caring for patients and their environment. You will support the plan of care, perform treatments, monitor vitals and glucose, and ensure safe patient transitions.

The ideal candidate has a Practical Nursing program, a high school diploma or GED, a VA LPN license, and CPR/BLS certification.

• 1 year Acute care experience (Preferred).

In addition, this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served in assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide the care needed as described according to the departmental policy and procedure. Promotes and maintains safe work environment for staff as well as our customers, incorporating national patient safety initiatives. The LPN may work in a variety of settings and roles within Riverside Health System. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.What you will doUnder the supervision of the RN, partners with patients and families to implement plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to the physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient.
