Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a part-time RN for the Psychiatric Acute Adult unit in Aurora, IL. The role covers nights (7p–7:30a) and involves direct patient care, education, and crisis intervention within a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities include record-keeping, administering treatments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and safety. A current state RN license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to psychiatric patients, educating patients about conditions and treatment.
Record medical histories and symptoms, assist with diagnostics and follow-up.
Administer treatment and medications, operate medical equipment.
Support patients and families with illness management and recovery plans.
