Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department Behavioral Health Pods. This full-time day shift (7a-7:30p) offers a sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will provide patient care, education, crisis intervention, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patients and families through treatment and recovery, including documenting histories, using medical equipment, and coordinating care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Working knowledge of mental health laws and practice standards.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients and provide education and emotional support.
• Lead therapeutic groups and psychiatric crisis intervention.
• Record patient histories, assist with diagnostics and treatments, and operate medical equipment.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, rehabilitation, and self-care.
