PSR/Medical Receptionist - Behavioral Health (Hybrid)

Apply now for the position of PSR/Medical Receptionist - Behavioral Health (Hybrid) in New Providence, NJ. This is a full-time, hybrid role requiring in-office presence three days a week and remote work two days a week. The work schedule includes various shifts, including evenings and mid-days.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Greeting patients and families, scheduling appointments, hospital admissions, and procedures.
  2. Answering calls promptly, directing calls appropriately, and maintaining telephone etiquette.
  3. Scheduling future appointments, tests, and referrals.
  4. Maintaining communication resources such as on-call schedules and contact numbers.
  5. Preparing charts for new patients and updating records.
  6. Requesting and preparing medical records for physicians.
  7. Reconciling encounters and monitoring supply inventory.
  8. Performing clerical duties including faxing, photocopying, and filing.
  9. Verifying patient information and maintaining confidentiality.
  10. Completing necessary forms and respecting patient rights.
  11. Establishing positive relationships with staff and protecting privacy.
  12. Reporting issues to the Nurse Manager.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Knowledge of booking, scheduling, and insurance requirements.
  2. Interacting with vendors and managing office supplies.
  3. Training staff and maintaining scheduling systems.
  4. Providing excellent customer service and communication skills.
  5. Understanding fire safety and emergency procedures.
Physical and Educational Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous experience preferred, with strong computer and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to satellite offices as needed.
