Job summary

Health Ministries Clinic in Kansas is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join the integrated primary-care and behavioral health team. You will schedule appointments, answer phones, check patients in, and verify insurance and eligibility.

You will enter data into the electronic health record, maintain confidentiality, and support providers as needed. The role offers full-time hours, typical business days, and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months experience as a medical receptionist preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Experience with customer service and multi-line phones preferred.
• Bi-Lingual Spanish preferred but not required.
• Computer skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enters a variety of information into the Electronic Health Record.
• Accurately checks patients in for appointments and scans documents into system.
• Demonstrate courtesy, patience, and helpfulness toward patients and their families

Job description

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) works as a member of Health Ministries Clinic team in an integrated primary-care/behavioral health setting. The PSR assists providers to care for patients by scheduling appointments and taking phone calls for the clinic. PSRs do participate in staff meetings, and staff training as required for the job role. The PSRs work closely with patients to ensure the accuracy of their dental appointments, personal information, and billing information.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Accurately enters a variety of information into the Electronic Health Record.
• Accurately checks patients in for appointments and scans a variety of documents into system.
• Demonstrate courtesy, patience, and helpfulness toward patients and their families
• Manage appointments and stay informed of appointment status
• Answer phones promptly, courteously, and efficiently
• Assist patients with registration forms
• Enter patient information accurately in the electronic health record
• Verify insurance eligibility
• Verify eligibility for sliding fee discount schedule
