Portable Solutions Group is seeking a Design/Drafting professional to assist the design team by developing new product designs and improving existing ones using Autodesk Inventor and Vault. You will create 3D parametric models, assemblies, and detailed drawings, and track time on multiple projects.
Work with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to meet drawing standards, maintain data organization, and resolve design issues in a fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail.

A designer’s primary responsibility is to assist the design team in developing new product designs and improving existing product designs using Autodesk Inventor and Vault. The designer will be responsible for creating 3D Parametric models and assemblies as well as creating the associated drawings. Duties will consist of developing accurate models of purchased parts either by taking accurate measurements or supplies cut sheets. The designer will get directions from the Design Manager. The Designer will work with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing as needed to complete design related tasks. The designer will be required to track time spent on different projects using provided tracking tools or software.
2 to 6 years of experience in a Design/Manufacturing Setting
2 to 5 years of experience in Drafting or Engineering
A minimum of Associates of Applied Science in Computer Aided Drafting & Design (preferred), or equivalent experience with design, drafting, or manufacturing field
At least 2 years of experience with the most current release (or within two releases) of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD or equivalent
Able to use and read calipers and a tape measure
Able to create complex, multipart models and create complex drawing sets with details for manufacturing to easily assemble
Able to communicate clearly with other departments
Able to interpret the requirements of a project based on purchase orders, estimates, and verbal communication from Design Manager and Engineers
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Able to visualize concepts and translate to a 3D model
Able to read and understand various types of drawings and schematics
