Job summary

Laboratory Corp. Of America is seeking a Patient Service Center Site Coordinator in Eureka, CA to oversee PSC operations and ensure seamless patient flow. The role includes phlebotomy and specimen processing at LabCorp Patient Service Centers under minimal supervision.

You will work with PSC staff, management, laboratory teams and clients, monitor productivity, assist with scheduling, and travel to additional sites as needed to support operations.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid California phlebotomy license or license application on hire.
  • Phlebotomy experience required; 1 year preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team; strong customer service.
  • Must pass a color vision test.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and report performance, compliance or staffing issues to supervisors.
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, and information logs.
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques.
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, etc.
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required.
  • Travel to additional sites as needed.

Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Patient Service Center (PSC) Site Coordinator to join our team. This position will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of activities of Patient Service Centers within an assigned area. The PSC Coordinator will work closely with the PSC staff, management, as well as the laboratory staff and clients to ensure optimal operation of the Patient Service Center. The position will also perform phlebotomy and specimen processing procedures at LabCorp Patient Service Centers under minimal supervision.

Compensation & Schedule
  • Pay Range: $22.82/hr – $34.76/hr
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 4:00pm and rotating Saturdays
  • Location: 2379 23rd St, Eureka, CA

Job Responsibilities
  • Observe and report performance, compliance or staffing related issues to supervisors
  • Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
  • Monitor monthly productivity reports and report any deviations as necessary
  • Address customer service related issues in a prompt and respectful manner
  • Promote teamwork, cohesiveness, and effective communication among coworkers
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
Job Requirements
  • Must have a valid California issue Phlebotomy License or have an application for a Phlebotomy License filed with CALIB at time of hire
  • Previous phlebotomy experience; 1 year preferred
  • Previous leadership experience is a plus
  • In‑depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Must pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Must be 21 years of age, have reliable transportation, and clean driving record if applicable
