Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is seeking a PREA Compliance Specialist for the Marana Detention Center in Marana, AZ. This full-time role oversees PREA requirements in line with MTC and customer directives, ensuring documentation and staff training.

You will develop programs, assist with policy creation, manage PREA folders, and coordinate audits with the warden. A high school diploma and 2 years detention or law enforcement experience are required; US citizenship or lawful permanent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• US Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Must successfully complete required preservice training.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop programs to comply with the PREA requirements.
• Assist with policy and procedure development for facility compliance.
• Create PREA Folders (e.g. hard copy and electronic) for each standard with documentation showing compliance.
• Ensure staff education and knowledge regarding PREA requirements.
• Complete and pre-audit documentation required (e.g. pre-audit questionnaire, statistics/data).
• Maintain appropriate PREA posters in living/common areas and detainee handbook language.
• Assist the warden in preparing the staffing plan with posts, cameras, and blind-spot mitigation methods.
• Develop a Memorandum of Understanding with a local rape crisis center to accept reports and support detainees as an advocate.
• Coordinate PREA audits with staff/auditors and prepare agendas and briefings.
• Meet periodically with the SAFE/SANE Nurse.

What You Will Do

• Plan and develop programs to comply with the PREA requirements.
• Assist with policy and procedure development for facility compliance.
• Create PREA Folders (e.g. hard copy and electronic) for each standard with appropriate documentation demonstrating compliance.
• Ensure staff education and knowledge regarding PREA requirements.
• Complete and pre-audit documentation required (e.g. pre-audit questionnaire, statistics/data).
• Maintain appropriate PREA posters in living/common areas and language in the detainee handbook.
• Assist the warden in preparation of the staffing plan, to include facility line drawings with assigned posts, cameras (type and direction), and blind spot identification/mitigation methods.
• In conjunction with the warden, develop a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a local rape crisis center to accept reports made verbally, in writing, anonymously, and from third parties, support detainees as an advocate.
• Coordinate PREA audits to include providing auditors with staff, contractors, and detainee rosters with all applicable information. Prepare an agenda with names of staff and detainees, audit tour, interview times and exit briefing.
• Meet periodically with the SAFE/SANE Nurse.

What You Will Need

• High school diploma or GED, two (2) years correction or detention custody or law enforcement experience required
• US Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Must successfully complete required preservice training.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
