Job Summary

The Department of Surgery, Division of Urology, is seeking a full-time physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join the adult urology clinic team at the University of Utah South Jordan and Ambulatory Care Center. The provider will conduct collaborative (with MD) and independent clinics, caring for patients with neurogenic bladder, incontinence, voiding dysfunction, and general urologic issues for men and women. Skills development in urologic procedures such as ultrasound, cystoscopy, and complex catheter management is expected. Urology offers a rewarding environment with long-term patient relationships and a collaborative practice setting.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct patient evaluations, including history taking, physical exams, care planning, and documentation.
2. Participate in team-based patient care, care coordination, and quality improvement when not seeing patients.
3. Develop procedural skills, including ultrasound, fluoroscopy, cystoscopy, and urodynamic evaluations.
4. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure high-quality care.
5. Foster a trusting and compassionate environment for patients.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Office environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases, oils, hazards, and physical conditions such as proximity to moving parts, vehicles, electrical sources, chemicals, and heights. Physical activities include hearing, listening, talking, typing, walking, standing, sitting, bending, and reaching overhead.

Minimum Qualifications

• Utah licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS (may be required).
• Utah prescriptive privileges.
• Master's degree in Nursing or equivalent and national certification.
• Ability to perform essential job functions and comply with immunization policies.
