Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking a Transportation Engineer 3 to serve as the Olympic Region’s PS&E Specialist, providing technical expertise, design support, and QA for a variety of transportation projects. This position reviews comprehensive plans, specifications, and estimates to ensure compliance with WSDOT standards.

• Engineering knowledge applied to transportation design and project management.
• Experience overseeing designs, cost estimates, and documentation.
• Proficiency with engineering software and cloud-based platforms.

Responsibilities

• Review PS&E contract documents for projects of varying complexity.
• Coordinate Region Review process and verify permits and agreements.
• Prepare final contract documents for advertisement and addenda.
• Provide guidance to project designers during PS&E development including estimates and Unifier usage.
• Review Design Documentation Packages and Plans for approval.
• Evaluate roadside designs for compliance with design manuals.
• Support regional design operations and lead meetings as needed.
