Job summary

NOVA Engineering & Environmental seeks an Environmental Project Engineer to join our Tampa, Florida environmental team, supporting Florida PRP projects from assessment through remediation and closure.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of environmental consulting experience with direct FDEP PRP project exposure. You will collaborate with engineers, geologists, and project managers on site investigations, remediation design, and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or related field.
• Approximately 3–5 years of environmental consulting experience.
• Direct experience with Florida FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP) projects strongly required.
• Experience with petroleum-contaminated soil and groundwater assessment, sampling, and reporting.
• Understanding of petroleum remediation practices and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to perform fieldwork and travel across Florida as needed.
• Ability to work from NOVA's Tampa office.

Responsibilities

• Support FDEP PRP projects from site assessment through remediation and closure.
• Perform field activities: monitoring wells, soil borings, sampling, pilot testing, and system monitoring.
• Collect, evaluate, and document environmental data per FDEP requirements.
• Assist with design, startup, operation, monitoring, and optimization of remediation systems (SVE, Sparging, DPE, Pump-and-Treat).
• Prepare and support technical reports and regulatory deliverables (RAPs, O&M docs).
• Coordinate with subcontractors, laboratories, and internal project teams.
• Support project documentation, cost estimates, proposals, and scopes of work.
• Maintain compliance with FDEP requirements and NOVA procedures.
• Collaborate with senior staff to develop engineering expertise and responsibility.
