Job summary

NOVA Engineering & Environmental seeks an Environmental Project Engineer to join our Tampa, Florida team, supporting FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program projects from assessment through closure. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of environmental consulting experience and direct PRP project exposure.

Focus will include field activities, data evaluation, and remediation system design and optimization, with opportunities for growth toward PE licensure. Work from the Tampa office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Approximately 3–5 years of environmental consulting experience.
• Direct experience with Florida FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP) projects strongly required.
• Experience with petroleum-contaminated soil and groundwater assessment, sampling, and environmental reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP) projects from site assessment through remediation and closure.
• Perform field activities, including monitoring well and soil boring installations; groundwater, soil, and vapor sampling; pilot testing and remedial system monitoring.
• Collect, evaluate, and document environmental data per FDEP requirements and approved scopes of work.
• Assist with design, startup, operation, monitoring, and optimization of remediation systems (e.g., SVE, Air Sparging, Dual-Phase Extraction, Pump-and-Treat).
• Prepare and support technical reports and regulatory deliverables (RAPs, assessments, O&M).
• Coordinate with subcontractors, field technicians, laboratories, and internal project teams.
