Job summary

NOVA Engineering & Environmental is seeking an Environmental Project Engineer for our Tampa, Florida team to support Florida Department of Environmental Protection PRP projects from assessment through remediation and closure.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of environmental consulting experience with direct PRP project experience, and is able to perform fieldwork across Florida and work from NOVA's Tampa office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or related field.
• Approximately 3–5 years of environmental consulting experience.
• Direct experience with Florida FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP) projects strongly required.
• Experience with petroleum-contaminated soil and groundwater assessment, sampling, and environmental reporting.
• Ability to perform fieldwork and travel within Florida as needed.
• Ability to work from NOVA's Tampa office.

Responsibilities

• Support PRP projects from site assessment through remediation and closure.
• Conduct field activities including monitoring wells, soil borings, sampling, and pilot testing.
• Collect, evaluate, and document environmental data per FDEP requirements.
• Assist with design, startup, operation, and optimization of remediation systems (SVE, Air Sparging, Dual-Phase Extraction, Pump-and-Treat, injections).
• Prepare and support technical reports and regulatory deliverables (RAPs, RAPs, O&M docs).
• Coordinate with subcontractors, field staff, labs, and internal teams.
• Support project documentation, cost estimates, proposals, and scopes of work.
• Maintain compliance with FDEP requirements and NOVA procedures.
