Job summary

Shelby County Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant - Proximity Support to help co-facilitate blended learning under the teacher of record. You will be physically present in the classroom to assist teachers and students, distributing content and supporting instruction across various settings.

You will monitor student progress, document data, and communicate with the classroom teacher to improve learning resources.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 2 years of college with 48 semester hours.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or obtainable.
• Proof of education, training and/or experience required.

Responsibilities

• Support students with learning skills as introduced by the teacher.
• Assist the teacher of record with classroom leadership and student interaction.
• Distribute educational content including notes, tests, and assignments.
• Provide instructional support in whole group, small group, and one-on-one settings.
• Support student achievement through co-teaching and reinforcement of concepts.
• Monitor student progress and document academic/behavior data.
• Assist with progress reports distribution to MSCS students.
• Participate in professional development and district trainings.
• Provide supervision of students in classroom and district premises.
