Job summary

Magna International seeks a Vehicle Engineering Technician to support prototype vehicle assembly and instrumentation. You diagnose, repair and test a variety of vehicle systems alongside engineers in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong mechanical, pneumatic and electrical aptitude with experience in CAN/LIN/FlexRay, instrumentation and data collection. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in automotive R&D environment.
• Strong diagnostic troubleshooting with OEM systems.
• Experience with CAN, LIN, and FlexRay.
• Experience with instrumentation and testing rigs.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.
• Able to work in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to implement or integrate new and developing systems.
• Design, fabricate, assemble, test, deploy, repair, troubleshoot rigs and systems.
• Electrical diagnosis and harness work with DVOM.
• Integrating and testing instrumentation like pressure transducers, thermocouples, flow-meters.
• Complete reports, procedures and tests to collect data for the engineering team.
• Maintain fleet of Self Driving Vehicles and support related systems.
