JB Poindexter & Co is seeking a Prototype Tool Maker to join its innovation hub in Michigan. You will collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate advanced body tech into electric vehicle chassis and prototype truck bodies for multiple business units.

The role requires fabrication and welding experience, plus the ability to read blueprints and work with metal components. A strong safety mindset and attention to detail are essential for delivering high-quality, compliant parts.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Automotive trade or technical school preferred.
• Fabrication experience required.
• Welding experience required.
• Automotive technician experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Install prototype truck bodies to chassis.
• Weld using mig or tig as assigned.
• Identify and source parts as necessary.
• Maintain organized workspace and return tools and materials.
• Read blueprints to design and construct base templates.
• Set up, use, and maintain work machinery.
• Double-check design specs before cuts, bends, and holes.
• Fabricate and construct metal and other material components.
• Wire beds, vehicles, and trailers.
• Perform quality checks on completed products.
