Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Prototype Test Instrumentation Technician to support a global field-test organization for gas turbine testing at power facilities worldwide. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and remove temporary instrumentation including thermocouples, sensors, accelerometers, strain gages, and related cabling.

Responsibilities include site setup/teardown, wiring routing, signal validation, diagnosing instrument issues, and mobilizing equipment for domestic and international

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in power generation, industrial facilities, or heavy industrial environments.
• Hands-on experience as an Industrial Electrician, I&C Technician, Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Pipefitter, or Tubing Fitter.
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining instrumentation such as thermocouples, pressure sensors, accelerometers, strain gages, and related test equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, electrical schematics, and one-line diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, control circuits, and industrial troubleshooting practices.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% annually, including extended deployments of up to 6 weeks, and work in industrial plant environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and remove temporary test instrumentation including thermocouples, sensors, accelerometers, and cabling.
• Support test site setup and teardown and route instrumentation wiring and tubing.
• Validate signal quality and diagnose instrumentation issues.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams and vendors; mobilize equipment for domestic and international campaigns.
• Work in challenging industrial environments with travel to support outages and testing activities.
