Job summary

thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America, Inc. in Hamilton, Ohio is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Test and Prototype Engineering teams. You will drive planning, procurement, testing, validation, and delivery of prototype products, ensuring alignment with cost, timing, and spec requirements.

You will develop testing strategies, coordinate engineering services across teams, and guide customer-focused technical leadership to achieve sustainable excellence in prototyping and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; HS diploma accepted with equivalent experience.
• 5–10 years in product development, testing, prototype management, or engineering.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T; support manufactured components meeting drawings.
• Experience in automotive/manufacturing: assembly, disassembly, machinery operation.
• Prototype manufacturing methods: machining, welding, grinding, painting; familiarity with software.
• Material properties, coatings, and manufacturing considerations for steel, aluminum, etc.
• Experience in Tier1 automotive testing is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee prototype team and ensure products meet design requirements and schedules.
• Ensure prototypes comply with specs, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
• Prioritize prototype build requests and align delivery schedules.
• Plan layouts from specifications and determine prototype operation sequence.
• Coordinate with internal/external customers to prepare components for manufacture.
• Lead testing to meet customer requirements and validate milestones.
• Prepare reports and present results to leadership and customers.
• Drive continuous improvement in testing methodologies and prototype processes.
