Job summary

thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America, Inc. in Hamilton, OH seeks a Technology and Innovation Product Engineer to lead concept and design validation for passive, semi-active, and active suspension technologies.

You will coordinate prototype testing, analyze design targets, and ensure compliance with safety and customer requirements. Responsibilities include creating test plans, performing CAD designs in SolidWorks and Catia, applying GD&T, and presenting findings in design reviews while managing

Qualifications

• Proven experience in design for automotive manufacturing components (preferred).
• Strong background in automotive and suspensions (preferred).
• Understanding of material properties for steel, aluminum, rubber and plastics.
• Ability to read drawings and GD&T and perform tolerance stackups.
• Ability to create concept designs using CAD software (SolidWorks and Catia).
• Ability to perform basic FEA; able to interpret CFD/FEA results.
• Coordinate and present technical data to suppliers and customers.
• Read and interpret customer specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop shock absorber and strut designs from concept through validation.
• Explore new products, technology, and tools to improve products and processes.
• Analyze internal and customer specifications to set design targets.
• Design with safety, performance, tolerances, reliability and cost in mind.
• Research data from customer proposals and test results to determine feasibility.
• Coordinate prototype fabrication, installation, and testing per requirements.
• Apply root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.
