Job summary

FOX Factory Holding Corp. seeks a Design Engineering Specialist 1 in Elkhart, IN to lead vehicle program launches from design to mass production.

You will design 3D models, specify jigs and templates, and drive manufacturability considerations across components and assemblies. You will operate 3D printers, CNCs, and laser cutters, while collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to deliver prototypes and first article feedback.

Qualifications

Mechanical Engineering degree required.
2+ years of experience in 3D modeling.
Solidworks 3D experience required.
Automotive and/or Aerospace industry experience preferred.
EIT Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage program launch initiatives from design hand-off through to mass production.
Carry out design for manufacturability of parts and components, executing design changes as required.
Apply engineering knowledge with aesthetics to design functional products.
Create 3D models for jigs, templates, and components.
Operate and maintain 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines and other development assets.
Assist in building prototype vehicles.
Prepare manufacturing documentation with suppliers and customers for first article feedback.
Document assembly processes and create assembly prints as required.
Prepare reports for management across Sales, Marketing, Production, Quality and other departments.
Develop test procedures and standards as required.
Manage and support up to five programs concurrently.
Assist Production with continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain standard drafting procedures and ASME Y14.5-compliant part prints.
