Job summary

Timken in North Canton, Ohio, is seeking a Prototype Technician to support the prototype department. You will set up and operate grinding machines, perform in-process inspections, and follow process controls to meet delivery goals. Strong mechanical aptitude, organization, and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and substantial experience in a mechanical trade.
• Associate degree with relevant mechanical trade experience is acceptable.
• Apprenticeship or technical training in a mechanical trade is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine set ups and operations in Product Grind or Prototype operations.
• Set up and operate grinding machines (surface, ID, OD, centerless, and super finishing).
• Use inspection equipment and hand tools for in-process inspections.
• Follow work instructions and process control plans; work as a team to meet on-time delivery.
• Assist in training associates on processes and operations; participate in quality systems, calibration, and audits.
