Job summary

Tau in Redwood City is hiring for a hands-on prototyping role shaping power conversion tech for data centers, EVs, and energy systems. You will build prototype powertrains, benches, and fixtures; support validation from setup through teardown; and keep the lab organized and ready for rapid engineering moves.

You will collaborate across Mechanical, Electrical, and Test Systems to translate intent into high-quality builds.

Qualifications

• Hands-on hardware assembly and prototyping in a lab setting.
• Ability to organize, troubleshoot, and maintain lab cleanliness and readiness.
• Experience supporting validation from setup to teardown in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Build prototype powertrains, subassemblies, fixtures, and test benches.
• Support first builds alongside engineers and catch issues early.
• Maintain lab organization, inventory, and equipment readiness.
• Work with Mechanical, Electrical, Test Systems, Manufacturing, and PM to translate intent into builds.
