Job summary

Infiltrator Water Technologies, based in Old Saybrook, CT, seeks a Fabrication Specialist/Senior R&D Technician to independently fabricate and test advanced prototypes, mentor junior technicians, and support engineering with manufacturable solutions.

You will lead test setups, ensure data quality, and push for process improvements, contributing to cutting-edge wastewater treatment projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on fabrication skills across wood, plastic, and metal.
• Experience with shop equipment: mills, bandsaws, lathes, jigsaws, table saws, drills.
• Able to read drawings, schematics, and CAD outputs.
• Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting.
• Experience leading builds or coordinating field installations.
• Forklift license preferred or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver's license.
• 4–8+ years in fabrication or R&D support.

Responsibilities

• Independently fabricate, assemble, and modify complex prototypes.
• Lead outdoor and shop testing setups and data acquisition.
• Diagnose issues and ensure reliable data collection.
• Mentor junior technicians and guide process improvements.
• Support design teams with manufacturable prototypes.
