Job summary

FORVIA in Columbus, Indiana, is seeking a year-round Prototype Program Engineering Intern to support the prototype team with coordinating orders, organizing technical data, and tracking schedules. You will gain hands-on exposure to prototype manufacturing, tooling activities, and project coordination.

The role emphasizes collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, scheduling, and program stakeholders, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements, dashboards, and KPI reporting

Qualifications

• Pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate prototype orders, organize technical information and schedules.
• Assist with prototype build reviews and document action items with owners and due dates.
• Maintain order trackers, timelines, delivery status and lead-time information; flag risks.
• Collaborate with scheduling, engineering, tooling, purchasing, manufacturing, quality and programs teams to support on-time completion.
• Assist with basic manufacturability and process-feasibility reviews under guidance.
• Support make-or-buy information gathering for prototypes and tooling activities.
• Prepare status updates, meeting notes, dashboards and KPI summaries for prototype delivery.
• Document and standardize processes, templates, and checklists for efficiency.
