Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Palm Bay, FL seeks an Engineering Technician D to assist in the prototype and development of electronic hardware builds in a hands-on engineering laboratory. This role focuses on prototype, first article, and low-volume manufacturing of cables and CCAs, with feedback on design and process improvements through rapid learning cycles.

The candidate will lead assembly tasks (SMT, harnesses), interpret drawings, and collaborate across disciplines.

Qualifications

Laboratory-based electronics troubleshooting and failure analysis experience.
Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, if required.
Experience with microscopy, X-ray inspection, cross-sectioning, decapsulation, semiconductor deprocessing, or fault isolation techniques.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineering to draft procedures and review designs to meet deadlines.
Operate in a dynamic, rapid development laboratory environment.
Independently perform and lead assembly tasks including SMT pick-and-place or harness/cable builds.
Interpret and follow sketches, schematics, wiring diagrams and work instructions.
Participate in process improvements and provide feedback on drawings, BOMs, ECOs and work instructions.
Conduct hardware kit verification.
Perform hand soldering of SMT, through-hole and fine-pitch components.
