Job summary

Rivian is seeking an Electronics Assembly/PCBA Prototype Technician to perform hands-on assembly, testing, and circuit-level troubleshooting for high- and low-voltage power conversion systems in a prototype and NPI environment.

You will work closely with design engineering to diagnose board failures, conduct high-reliability PCBA rework to IPC Class 3 standards, and build wire harnesses with documentation to support smooth transitions into manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical field
• 3+ years hands-on PCBA assembly and testing experience
• Soldering to IPC Class 3 standards in high‑reliability products
• Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Familiar with IPC/WHMA‑A‑620C and related guidelines
• Experience in ESD protected environments and with standard lab test gear
• Strong communication across engineering, manufacturing, QA and vendors/tools

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot board failures with engineering and perform functional tests using DMMs and power supplies
• Assist with wire harness builds, inventory, logs and work instructions for production transitions
• Assemble and solder prototype power electronics, perform rework per engineering dispositions
• Interpret schematics and assembly drawings to support mechanical and circuit troubleshooting
• Inspect boards per IPC standards and fabricate wire harnesses per IPC/WHMA‑A‑620C guidelines
• Support NPI and production transitions, manage materials and equipment maintenance
