Job summary

Jobot Consulting is seeking a contract CNC Machinist in the Cleveland area to support prototype and custom builds. The role involves setup, programming, and short-run manufacturing on-site in Shaker Heights.

You will work closely with engineers to translate designs into functional hardware and ensure dimensional accuracy throughout production. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of hands-on CNC experience, strong blueprint-reading skills, and can program using CAM software or G-code.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on CNC machining experience, preferably in prototype or low-volume work.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC milling equipment independently.
• Strong blueprint reading with tolerances and GD&T knowledge.
• Experience programming CNC using CAM software or G-code.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines for prototype and low-volume parts.
• Interpret drawings, CAD models, dimensions and tolerances.
• Program or edit CNC code at the machine or via CAM software.
• Select tooling, workholding, and determine speeds/feeds.
• Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
• Maintain documentation for programs, tooling, and setups.
