Jobot in Cleveland, OH is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a contract role based in Shaker Heights. The successful candidate will set up and run CNC milling, interpret drawings, and program using CAM software or direct machine control to deliver prototype and low-volume parts.

You will work closely with engineers, maintain documentation, and adapt to evolving priorities on a fast-moving shop floor. This position requires on-site presence for the contract duration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on CNC machining experience in prototype/low-volume environments.
• Ability to program CNC equipment using CAM software or by editing at the machine.
• Strong blueprint-reading skills including dimensions, tolerances and GD&T.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC milling equipment independently.
• Must be available to work on-site in Shaker Heights for the contract duration.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines to produce prototype, tooling, fixtures, and low-volume parts.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
• Program CNC equipment using CAM software or edits at the machine control.
• Determine appropriate tooling, workholding, cutting parameters, and machining sequences.
• Perform frequent setups and changeovers for one-off and short-run components.
• Inspect finished components with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify manufacturability concerns and propose design improvements.
• Maintain documentation for programs, tooling, setups, and inspection results.
