Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a qualified Field Service Technician to support Varian Proton Therapy Systems on-site. The role requires performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer support at customer sites, with potential travel up to 30% and a flexible shift schedule (1st–3rd or extended 10/12-hour days, including nights).

The position emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Engineering Technologies or 2 years in military/high-tech work
Able to work at heights above 20 feet or in cramped spaces
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Customer-focused attitude demonstrated in field service roles
Ability to troubleshoot using technical drawings and root-cause methodologies
Proficient with common field service tools and software
Experience with MS Office, SAP, Salesforce, and control software

Responsibilities

Maintain knowledge and safety per VMS guidelines and perform work safely
Provide highly visible customer support and assist operation of the system
Serve as liaison with customer on technical and administrative matters
Perform operational quality checks and planned maintenance
Create accurate, detailed field service reports
Complete required service bulletins and upgrades timely
Complete mandatory training and certifications to maintain FDA compliance
Use internal software applications (MS Office, SAP, Salesforce, PLC GUI) effectively
