Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an Assistant Data Scientist to contribute to software development, data analysis, and treatment-planning technologies supporting proton therapy and radiation physics programs.

The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop algorithms and computational infrastructure under direct supervision in Radiation Physics - Research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or related field.
• Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• Strong analytical abilities and programming aptitude are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining proton therapy algorithms and software tools.
• Support dose computations and treatment planning through software implementations.
• Contribute to Monte Carlo techniques and image processing for proton therapy research.
• Participate in analyses and validation of computational methods and results.
• Perform other duties related to research and software development as assigned.
