The Assistant Data Scientist role supports innovative computational and scientific initiatives that advance proton therapy and radiation physics programs. As an Assistant Data Scientist, you will contribute to software development, data analysis, and treatment-planning technologies that support critical cancer care and research efforts.
Within Radiation Physics - Research, the Assistant Data Scientist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop and maintain algorithms, software tools, and computational infrastructure. The Assistant Data Scientist plays an important role in supporting dose computations, treatment planning, image processing, and scientific analyses while growing technical expertise under direct supervision at UT MD Anderson.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or a related field, with a master's degree preferred. Candidates who demonstrate strong analytical abilities, programming aptitude, curiosity for scientific discovery, and an interest in computational applications for proton therapy and radiation physics will be well suited for this opportunity.
Salary Range (40-hour work week): Minimum $32.93/hour - Midpoint $41.11/hour - Maximum $49.28/hour
