Job summary

University of North Texas Health at Fort Worth is seeking a Research Specialist to lead the lab's mass spectrometry operations, including assaying DIA proteomics workflows and maintaining advanced instruments such as timsTOF Pro and nanoElute 2 LC.

The successful candidate will support multi-omics research focused on ocular disorders and neurobiology, with NIH early-career grant support and a strong emphasis on data integrity and reproducibility. Monday–Friday on site in Fort Worth, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to conduct research and maintain security and integrity of infrastructure.
• Preference for experience in proteomics workflows and LC-MS data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex biological samples including protein extraction and digestion.
• Design, test, and optimize DIA LC-MS proteomics workflows for high-throughput experiments.
• Perform daily maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of timsTOF Pro and nanoElute systems.
• Analyze DIA proteomics datasets using specialized bioinformatic tools to ensure data quality.
