Job summary

Astrin Biosciences is seeking a hands-on Lab Technician to join our clinical laboratory team. You will process patient blood samples and support proteomic diagnostic tools used in early cancer detection and targeted therapy selection.

The role emphasizes autonomous work, adherence to SOPs, and daily use of LIMS and standard molecular protocols. Join us in advancing breakthrough diagnostics with a small, mission-driven biotech startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in bioscience or related field required.
• Experience performing biological experiments or handling human blood specimens in a clinical setting.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment (electrical and non-electrical).
• Willingness to handle hazardous substances (flammable liquids, biohazards, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to work autonomously, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Accession and process patient specimens for testing and research per SOPs.
• Prepare and sterilize reagents, solutions, and assay plates for molecular protocols.
• Execute study protocols independently and document results in paper and electronic systems (LIMS).
• Sterilize materials using autoclaves and decontamination methods to maintain a clean environment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on lab instrumentation.
• Follow CLIA/CAP safety guidelines and regulatory compliance at all times.
• Support lab management by tracking inventory and optimizing workspace organization.
• Manage multiple priorities to meet high-volume productivity and quality benchmarks.
• Maintain cell cultures, including incubator monitoring and media preparation.
